Tutorial Program

In the rural Ethiopian communities we serve, overcrowded classrooms and shift schedules mean students receive only four hours of instruction a day—half the time given to students in better-resourced schools. With student-to-teacher ratios often exceeding 60:1, most children get little opportunity to ask questions, receive help, or overcome learning gaps.

Our Tutorial Program changes that. Smaller classes and dedicated teachers create space for personalized attention, targeted instruction, and mentoring that strengthens understanding and confidence.

This support is especially vital as students prepare for the Ethiopian General Secondary Education Certificate Examination (EGSECE)—the national Grade-12 exam and a prerequisite for university entrance. While elite schools see pass rates above 80%, most government schools remain in the single digits, leaving rural students at a severe disadvantage.

Your support gives every student a fair chance—no matter where they come from.
