The goal of our Hope 4others child sponsorship program is to empower vulnerable children to become self-reliant young adults who contribute to their communities. Each child works hard to achieve this dream! Some are fortunate enough to pursue independence after receiving a university education, but most enter into a vocational training program after graduating high school. 


The young adults featured on this page are high school graduates who are now hoping to enroll into a TVET program (TVET: Technical and Vocational Education and Training) at a local college. Identifying their skills and interests, the Hope 4others staff has helped each young entrepreneur choose the program that best supports their dream.

Students Pursuing FASHION DESIGN

A local college in Ambo offers a six month training program in Fashion Design where trainees are primarily taught how to tailor clothes. Upon completing this program, graduates could pursue jobs such as tailoring or sewing garments. 


$216.00 would fully sponsor a student's entrepreneurial training in this field. This includes the registration fee, mandatory eye exam, program training cost, final examination fee, and license tax at the completion of the training.

Students Pursuing a COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE

Obtaining a commercial driver's license through the training program offered by the local transport office typically requires 4 to 6 months. This license will allow the trainee to seek immediate employment as a bajaj (3-wheel taxi) driver, and he can possibly drive larger vehicles after he accrues enough savings and work experience.


$498.00 would fully sponsor a student's training in this field. This includes the registration fee, mandatory medical exam, program training cost, final examination fee, and license tax at the completion of the training.

Student Pursuing FILM AND PHOTOGRAPHY

We have one student interested in a college program that offers a dual focus on photography and videography. In this program, she will learn the basics of photography (camera operation, lighting, and composition), become familiar with editing software like Adobe Lightroom and Premiere Pro, learn skills required for specialized photography sessions (portraits, weddings, events), and practice videography techniques for storytelling, documentaries, and commercial purposes. 


$218.00 would fully sponsor Habtenesh's training in this field. This includes her registration fee, program training cost, and final examination fee. (All necessary equipment is provided by the college.)
